Aqua Optima leverages filter design for repeat sales

STRIX GROUP PLC

Aqua Optima’s water filtration system is built around a five-stage process designed to improve the taste and clarity of tap water. This patented technology sits at the core of its commercial model, offering a practical solution for consumers while creating an ongoing market for replacement filters.

The system begins by filtering out visible particles like sediment and rust. Activated carbon then removes chlorine and organic compounds that affect taste and smell. A dedicated ion exchange resin reduces heavy metals and limescale, which protects appliances and appeals to customers in hard-water areas. The final layers catch fine particles, and the entire process is designed to maintain a consistent flow rate over the cartridge’s life. Unlike more aggressive filtration systems, Aqua Optima’s method leaves beneficial minerals in the water, which can help maintain consumer satisfaction.

From a commercial standpoint, the model depends on steady demand for replacement cartridges. Each filter has a limited life span, driving repeat sales. This recurring revenue stream offers visibility beyond initial purchases of jugs or dispensers. The filters are also compatible with other major jug brands, giving Aqua Optima access to a wider market without requiring customers to switch hardware. BPA-free materials and attention to ease of use further align with regulatory standards and consumer expectations.
